I've modified the file upload size and display sizes from 1200×1024 pixels to 1800×1536 pixels and the file size from 5Mb to 10Mb.

I've seen my images change from roughly 125kb to 256kb after being uploaded (before the change to after it).

Thumbnails are also bigger, from 300px to 600px.

The media gallery has also been changed accordingly as well, going from 10Mb to 15Mb files that can be uploaded, and from 1600×1200px to 2048×2400px.

I will monitor the overall size of the forum database to see how quickly it grows. If it grows too quickly, I will need to lower these settings because donations and advertising revenue only meets about half of the forum costs. I pay the rest of of my own pocket.

So can I please ask all of you to consider how many times you want to post an image before using it, and if it is more than once, please use the media gallery where 1 upload can be used more than once without adding to there total database/forum size. If you upload the same image twice using the attach files button, you add it twice. If you upload the file into the media gallery and link to it using the camera icon, you can display it 20 times and it still only counts as 1 upload. The media gallery also allows you to link to 19 images per post, whereas the attach files button will remain limited to 6 attachments.

I will be working through the instructions for the media gallery in the coming weeks, but the content on how to use it, is already there Media Gallery .

I have made the changes necessary to take advantage of the new file sizes.

If you want to return to the original screen width, you will need to switch to the style you are using.

The new default desktop size is 1600 pixels.

Previously, it was 1380 pixels. I have created a style for this size if you wish to revert to the old format.

To select the style, scroll to the bottom of the screen. In the black area, you will see a paintbrush icon and a word; if you are on the default style, it will say CookingBites. If you have changed the style, it may display as Links Underlined, Links in Bold, Links in Bold, or Links in Red.

Click that area, and a pop-up window will appear, allowing you to select a style.
