Plans for today (2026)

I've got a request from the Indian Embassy to make 150 samosas and some masala chai - for next Thursday, so I'd planned to make 50 samosas today, 50 tomorrow, maybe, 50 Saturday.
Then yesterday I got a request from a lady for an Indian dinner for 5 (including 2 kids). Piece of cake, I thought.
2 hours later, she said : " we might be 8, not 5"
OK. No problem.
9pm - "there's going to be 10 of us"
Had to get some extra chicken; I chose the menú (so made the easiest one).
(6 hours later...)
Back from the dinner. Everyone happy with the flavours and the dishes, so happy camper here!

Ugh, worked a double shift, just got to the hotel, have to be back in by 3 for another double. Luckily I qualify for a late check out so I can sleep until 2:30, be out of the room at 3.

The hotel must have a large British group visiting since the complimentary breakfast had a chafing dish of baked beans alongside the werid eggs and maple sausage. They were American baked beans though. No one has touched them.

We're coming into my favorite time of year again, where I start taking off Fridays to go fishing, shooting, or paddling in perfect weather. Today, I chose a local stream to fish and had a great morning, catching around around 18 brown and rainbow trout, all catch 'n release.

I need to get in gear here. I've just renewed my license for all that.

Wow! Very nice. I've never caught a brownie before. Pretty fish.

I've only been out trout fishing once this year, just after opening day. Got 1 that was just barely a keeper. Grilled it, and it was just enough to make a trough salad sandwich.

Lol, not for nothin', but i love the old expression that catch and release fishing is like driving around a mall parking lot at at Christmas time to find a great parking spot, pulling in, then backing out and driving around to find another spot.

We live near lakes that freeze solid in certain spots in the winter. There are a lot of houses on the lakes, and due to fertilizers and pesticides runoff, not many people eat what they catch, but people sit in their little ice shanties on the lake in 15F weather, drill a hole in the ice, catch a fish (maybe), and then throw them back in the hole. Sounds like so much fun, lol. Not.

Do you think that when the released fish swims back to his buddies, he tells them horror stories of having a big metal spike driven through his mouth and being captured by aliens from the dimension beyond the icy firmament?

No, I think the idiot fish might get caught twice by the same guy!

No fishing here but about to go upstairs and have a shower then out to rolleston and give isla 2 hrs driving into town where her school is so she is familiar with the route when she gets her license. All using lights.
Then.out to our daughter for family dinner. She's cooking Asian for us as grandkids all love it.
Ive got night off so I spose I might get hammered.
