Plans for today (2026)

That would be a dorkfish.

Bill Engvall does a very funny bit about the dorkfish.
Does that fish remind you of Jeff Goldblum?

It's Mother's Day in the USA today, so all the best to all the moms out there, here and everywhere.

We're going to a local animal shelter to see if we're going to expand our family today, then out to a Korean restaurant . My wife asked if we find a cat to adopt, what are we supposed to do? Bring him or her to the restaurant? I figured that might be a bad idea, then made the usual jokes about BYO for the chef to cook.
She wasn't impressed with my jokes.

Change of plans.

They sell rubber tire screws that you put into the hole and hold pressure as a temporary fix to allow you to drive to a repair shop.
But if it's flat that doesn't help much.

Im guessing he's out fiddling with it or finding someone to help.

We plug them as well.
But you still need to take off the tyre or jack it up to do so.
We also have something called tyre weld which is like a spray can, you attach to the valve and push it in. It inflates and fills/closes up the leak. Straight after that you need to drive the car at about 40 km an hour for half an hour or so
I, living remote, have 2 cans tyre weld, tyre repair kits, air compressor and jacks living in the car
I am contemplating buying a battery operated impact drill as the hardest part of changing a tyre is to undo the wheel nuts

They sell mini compressors as well. I have one that is a usb charged mini compressor, battery jumper, and flashlight all in one.

Worth kerping under the back seat or in your garage.
I bought a really good one for my husband for Christmas last year. He doesn't drive much these days, but when the weather changes his pressure is usually off a few pounds.

Yes, we have the cans as well. I used it in my previous car once when I had a flat and my mechanic yelled at me, lol.
