Plans for today (2026)

That’s a big deal, congrats! It’s seems like it was just a few days ago you were starting it.
Thank you.

We're also planning on taking 2 weeks off to drive to my graduation ceremony in August. It's 1,000km each way, so we'd get chance to see something of north eastern Australia. Assuming i haven't landed a job by then that prevents me from going...

Dig out around this metal post and then angle grinder it off so I can backfill it. To date I've spent around 8 hours driving the mower around this obstacle..

Today:
Sunday Brunch
Clean up the mess
Divvy up and freeze the ground beef I bought yesterday
Squeeze the two 3 pound bags of both lime and lemons I bought yesterday
Divvy up and freeze the dozen and a half Brioche Burger Buns I bought the other day
No lunch today, since Brunch was colossal
Sunday Supper of Chicken Cacciatore my way, with some shape of pasta

My plans for today didn't include finding an old buried gate post in a huge concrete filled hole, with the old rose straddling it. The rose sadly has had to be removed. The wind picked it up back in January or February and tore it from the thick of stem that was bigger than a dinner plate. We had hoped it would recover and survive, but inside there was just too much damage and less than a thumb of live wood supplying the plant. So given i have successfully got cuttings growing from it (which are 2 years old now) we removed it using my landcruiser.

I had suggested to my OH that I used low ratio (gears) to pull it out of the ground, but he'd said no. It would be fine... I shrugged and opened the gate in our fence line as a precaution. I was 90° to the track staying off the lawn totally...

when my OH said he was clear, still thinking I'd be better in low ratio 1st, I set off in high ratio 1st hoping to get passed the bite of the clutch quickly. Let's just say the lump of gate post and concrete shot out of the hole at a speed of knots with my OH running after it yelling STOPPPPPP... :D

Well it's out now and I have a 1m deep hole pre-dug that i can plant a tree in! Lol

Needless to say, he's now claiming he told me to use low ratio 1st gear... :whistling:

(The rope is 25m in length so i was a decent distance from it, and driving up hill).

That made me laugh! It's a scene from Tom & Jerry almost!
