Simplest of all, even if you can't cook you ought to be able to make this! Recipe by actress Brenda Blethyn from Nigel Slater's 'Taste of My Life' TV series: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/prawnswithgarlicbutt_86031

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 50g/2oz butter
  • 12 large raw prawns
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • small handful parsley, chopped
Method
  1. In a wok or a large pan heat the oil and butter. Add the prawns and garlic and stir well.
  2. Stir fry until the prawns are pink (about 4-5 minutes).
  3. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper and scatter the chopped parsley over. Serve at once.

Good recipe! And I like Brenda Blethlyn (she plays Vera in the TV series based on Ann Cleeves novels).

This is a favourite lunch dish when on holiday, but with many more than two cloves of garlic, sliced not crushed. Always with fresh lemon juice squeezed over it, or occasionally orange to give it a bit of a twist. I definitely need a holiday ☺
