Recipe for smoked salmon?

My grandfather used to make the BEST smoked salmon I have ever had. I would love to have his recipe but he does not remember I have remembered the taste scince i was little it was that good. lol. Anyone out their have any idea of the best way to make this? I would appriciate it so much!

Are you talking about cold smoked or hot smoked?

I have tried salmon a few different ways, and it is always dry to me. I prefer eating other fish, but people still tout their salmon
