Show us your breakfast (2025)

I had breakfast early by my standards (2:35pm). Half a homemade English muffin with bacon and a fried egg.

Leftover Bacon (WHAT?!), Pepper Jack Cheese, a hard fried Egg all on an English Muffin (my muffin is schmerd with Salted Butter )
Geez, as I look at this photo, I realize that the Bacon that I buy is pretty thick!

I *love* thick bacon even though I'm challenged for chewing it. Doesn't slow me down; way I see it that makes it last longer! I buy pork belly in 1 lb. pieces for around $5 and then cure/season/flavor to make bacon. 'Course it comes with the skin on but Pippi and Ozzie like that. Since I'm hand slicing my "slices" are closer to 3 or 4 oz. per piece than the "supermarket standard". You can deep fry these. 🤪

Here's a bit on bacon slices.

My Mother needed to have fasting blood work done, so I rewarded her with breakfast out afterwards.
(it took 1 1/2 hours from the time we walked in til the time we walked !!!)

DH requested their Jumbo Cinnamon Roll (I tried to say, you won't like it ...🤷‍♀️)

Both Mom & I ordered the Western Skillet, think Western Omelette deconstructed with Hash Browns on the bottom, very good.
I had American-Style soft scrambled Eggs and Mom's was fried Medium - Mom ate all of her food, where I on the hand only ate half

I've never had eggs & beans or beans on toast, I suppose I shouldn't turn up my nose until I do ...
Beans on toast seems to be a British thing. Sazzi is throwing her own in with the chorizo???

I've had beans on toast and an egg for breakfast and it's *quite* filling; in a good way!

As a side note to this morning's breakfast out, DH & I both agreed we won't be going back to that particular café again... $50 for 3 plates, 2 drinks, tax & a 15% tip ... poor service, just a poor dining experience all the way around, AGAIN! That's the third time we've been there, so we gave them a good chance.
