I try to keep them in my yard as they can eat hundreds of ticks in a day!!! I hate those insects. Bloodsucking pos' falling out of the trees while cutting the grass...Possums are harmless and actually very useful, eating cockroaches, ticks, and other nasty bloodsucking insects.
They are bloody ugly, though.

Just saw that. Yes!That's a beauty. The only Irish American marsupial. Did you know that they only live 2 to 3 years on average, but eat a ton of ticks from incessant grooming? They can eat 5000 ticks in a season. They're great to have in your backyard, along with the Irish furniture.
