I've always wanted a bulldog!! But they are too ridiculously expensive, I heard, costing at least $8,000!!! Because of their beautifully large heads, they have to be born through Cesirean section, making being born an expensive job!!

Does anyone know where I can get one for a lot cheaper than $8,000? :whistling:

Unfortunately they are bred to the point where their faces are so flat they can hardly breathe. Please be careful, you may end up spending a fortune on vet fees.

And bulldogs often snore while sleeping. They can't swim in deep water because they are too heavy, but they can certainly,& love to enjoy having tremendous fun playing in shallow water as a cooling off during the hot days of summer. They don't like to be too cold either. And they pass gas a lot also. But I still want one if I can get one. :whistling:

But I don't want just any dog! I want one who is kind, gentile, well-behaved & quiet. :whistling:
Shermers mate, Max was not a rescue dog. Boebeols in South Africa were bred buy crossing an English Mastiff with a Rhodesian Ridgeback. They were used to protect live stock in Africa from predators like Lions. They are one of the most powerful dog breeds in the world and have a bite force of 800 psi. They became the drug dealers dog of choice in the North West of the UK. Max was captured on a Police raid. It took two specialist cops in padded suits and long nooses to restrain him. The cops were waiting for a vet to terminate him. A Cop friend told me about him, because they knew my to previous rescue GSD's they arrange a meeting. After checking my gardens size and security they agreed to let me have him as long as I kept him muzzled when I took him out. They brought him muzzled. It was a beautiful day. They left, I took muzzled Max on the lead for a lap of the garden. He was sniffing and marking the perimeter. On the second lap I took the lead and muzzle off turned and walked up to the garden bench at the top of the garden sat and watched him. Sniff Sniff Pee Pee for two hours. Mrs B was watching in the house, after two hours I signaled her to come out and sit with me. Max eventually just walked up and looked at me then licked her hand. She got up and he followed her to where she had placed his food. She went in the house, after he finished his food he walked down to about 15 ft of me lay down and watched me. I showed no interest in him. I got up and walked to they bottom of the garden, Max walked next to me. Humans make the best or the worst out of dogs.
It was very rare off me to pat him, he had to know I was the boss. I never hit him or shouted at him. Mrs B was his friend. I just got pleasure in seeing that.My wife weighs around 115lbs Max was 140 lbs. Six month later we were able to leave him in a specialist kennel run by women so we could resume our holidays. He liked it there and Ladies liked him.

Bravo! Totally correct. Crufts and the Kennel Club should be ashamed for supporting canine eugenics in the UK.

I had to put Obi-Wan Kenobi to sleep yesterday. He would have turned 14 on Friday. He's the cat at the back of my avatar photo.

He was a great and amazing cat. He wasn't scared of anything. He even enjoyed vet visits, not wanting to get back in his carrier, even after a rabies shot. He was born to explore. He was also a good mouser. And my one remaining cat misses the hell out of him.

I guess I no longer have "my only hope".

I know the feeling, had to have ours put down about 20 years ago, I had her cremated, her ashes are in the garden where she used to sleep in the sun.
