Spaghetti on toast? Sounds interesting. How do you make them?

I think MypinchofItaly would be truly shocked. Its basically tinned spaghetti (which comes in a tomato sauce) heated up and put on toast. Its originally a UK thing and I often had it as a kid. In fact, it was the only pasta we ever had in my house. The spaghetti is pre-cooked and is certainly not 'al dente' and the sauce is rather 'gloopy' as I think it contains corn flour (cornstarch). Heinz originally introduced it in 1926 (I learned). You can also get tinned spaghetti hoops in tomato sauce.

It may surprises you but I tasted it long time ago. Not something I would buy again but not even so bad

My Western Food Supplier has a special offer on Heinz spaghetti at ฿260.00 for four tins. That's the equivalent of £1.43/tin in proper money.

My ex inlaws put them on a baked potato too.

I could never enjoy them, and neither baked beans. I also dislike Yorkshire tea. I grew up bilingual, but I make for a shitty UK resident. Guess that's why I never fit in and went back to NL🤣

We have a whole line of bad canned pasta - ravioli, beefaroni, lasagna, spaghetti, etc.

Spaghetti on toast isn't far removed from a Midwest US classic, spaghetti sandwiches, which I've posted on here before.

We have the tinned ravioli in the UK. I think Yorky buys it from his UK food supplier. Lasagne is defeating my imagination though - how do you fit lasagne in a tin?
