I've been looking at ways to use allspice (often only used in cakes and puddings in the Western world). Here's an easy one:
Ingredients
75g/2½oz cashews
25g/1oz butter (or use oil)
1½ tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp soft brown sugar
pinch ground ginger
pinch ground allspice
pinch paprika
Method
Put the cashews into a dry frying pan and fry over a low heat until slightly browned on all sides. Watch carefully!
Add the butter or oil, Worcestershire sauce, sugar and spices and fry for 2-3 minutes.
Put onto kitchen paper and leave to cool slightly before serving.
