Sprouting My Own Sprouts

I'm soaking white beans for dinner tonight, and will keep some apart to see if they sprout
Also trying dried green peas (bought recently)

I like mung bean sprouts

I don't think I've ever had them. I'm pretty sure the ones I'd buy in 'Vegas were soy.

Mung bean sprouts are very common, I can find them at the regular grocery store. You sure about the soy? Those I've not seen.

They work really well but best as shoots rather than sprouts.

That sounds like the ones I am used to, but apparently they are also mung bean shoots

They use them in smoothies....

Pretty much every grocery store has mung bean sprouts up here so very surprised that they weren't readily available in Vegas.

Available everywhere

They were! The Asian stores have tubs of them.

I putine in a black plastic bag with the end open. Read somewhere they grow better in the dark. That makes sense since when they're sprouting they're in the ground.
