Do you like taramasalata (Greek dip)? I used to like it when I was younger but developed an intolerance of it later. It has the same effect on me as mayonnaise. Its a shame because although I haven't had any for decades I still remember the taste, which I liked. Its often served with pita bead to dip.

For some reason its often coloured pink. I don't know if that's traditional. Do you ever eat it? Is it for sale in supermarkets in your country?

I haven't tried that. I might have to give it a go.
 
I love the stuff, I do find that the supermarket versions have too much lemon in them these days. I guess the acidity helps with the shelf life but it completely throws off the flavour balance. Freshly made is by far the nicest, particularly if you are eating it in a small restaurant on a Meditteranean island.
