TEFAL Slice Toaster TT1321TH - 850W

After 16 years our Tefal toaster gave up the ghost this year and it was time to buy new. We looked at Philips and Cuizimate but finally went for Tefal again given the sterling service that the previous one had given us.

A compact two slot applicance but so compact that the toasting loaf slices that we buy are too “tall” to toast without turning over half way through. I guess that we should have taken a slice with us to check it. Slices 120 mm x 120 mm fit nicely and brown evenly. There is one facility missing - it does not have a removable tray to catch any crumbs.

We bought it from “Central” (Robinsons) for Bht 600.00 (US$ 18.00) reduced from Bht 890.00.

It’s adequate and a toaster is a toaster.

Agree 100% same as a kettle is a kettle be it £5 [about $7-8 I think] or £50.
PS You can always turn it upside down to empty out the crumbs

Don't the crumbs just drop out the bottom?

I must admit I thought that was odd. Perhaps its to do with hot climates (stops insects getting in). @Yorky will have to enlighten us!

That is what we do. It's not a great hardship.

I think it's just to keep dust out. It definitely doesn't fit tight enough to keep insects out.
