I went to the hepatologist (liver doctor) today, and my most recent MELD score was surprisingly really good. For perspective, the MELD score is derived from a handful of blood tests. A healthy liver has a score of 6, and the "don't make any long term plans" score is 40. My latest score was 9. At the beginning of 2022, I had a score of 28.

Difficult for me to believe. My shoes are size 45 and my feet are a large 45. However, I can put one on when there's a frog sleeping in there and I can hardly tell it's there.

Ah, it's noon on the first Wednesday of the month. We are getting the tornado siren serenade (testing the system). All the dogs are barking and running in circles.

I had a doc’s appointment scheduled for tomorrow AM (which I’d forgotten about).

No worries, they called me today to tell me my doc (nurse practitioner, actually) had left the practice and so I needed to reschedule around the new (visiting) doctor’s “in” days.

I used the opportunity to switch to my wife’s doc. It’s further away, but I like all the specialists and the hospital in that area over the ones in my rinky town.
