At the time of this writing, the newest episode of Game of Thrones on HBO has aired, and it had a scene where a character named Hot Pie (who is human, not an actual sentient pastry) bakes a delicious-looking scone.
Game of Thrones is based on the fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire by G.R.R. Martin, who shows his extensive research into what medieval Europeans would have been eating. The Inn at the Crossroads website is dedicated to replicating the recipes in the book, whether the way they would have originally been done, or with a modern twist. They also have a giant cookbook published, with a foreword by the author of A Song of Ice and Fire himself!
