Turmeric Mushroom Gravy
INGREDIENTS
1/2 yellow onion thinly sliced
2 cups sliced Baby Bella mushrooms
1 Tsp micro planed garlic
1 TBSP micro planed ginger
4 TBSP EVOO + 2 TBSP EVOO
1 TBSP Turmeric
1 TBSP salt
1 CUP + Chicken Stock as needed
1 TBSP APF
METHOD
Clean and slice mushroom. Do not discard the stems. Trim and dice.
In a ramekin mix together 4 TBSP EVOO, Turmeric and salt. In a bowl large enough for the sliced mushrooms and diced stem toss with seasoned oil mixture. The mushrooms will absorb the oil.
In a sauté pan heat 2 TBSP EVOO. Add onions and cook until soft. Add garlic and ginger. Stir to combine. Add mushrooms with any liquid in bowl. Mushrooms ill quickly absorb all liquid. Reduce heat. Sprinkle surface with 1 TBSP APF. Add 1 cup chicken stock. Simmer at least 5 minutes, until flour is cooked and gravy will coat the back of a spoon. If the gravy is too thick add chicken stock 1 TBSP at time.
Taste. Add salt and pepper if needed.
This gravy is lovely and can be used in numerous applications.
I will use it tonight.
