Hello everyone. I thawed a turkey today via the water method. I followed the directions, changing the water every 30 minutes. After I got done, I read on the internet that the turkey had to be cooked immediately??!! I was planning on cooking it tomorrow. I left it on the counter for about 20 minutes while I looked online for whether or not it would be safe to cook tomorrow instead of immediately.

A friend on facebook said it was safe to put it in the fridge, in it's original packaging, and clean and cook it tomorrow. So, that's what I am doing.

I tend to worry, hence my post here. Is my turkey going to be okay to cook tomorrow instead of "immediately"?

You've missed a perfect opportunity here - you could have brined it for the 24 hours before cooking!
