What’s going on in your garden (2026)?

I got my lemongrass today. 😡 It'll survive I'm sure but really!!!

I finally got all my veggies (peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, and pumpkin) in the ground. I am exhausted and too lazy to go outside and take a photo, but it’s done.

I’ve got a mesh umbrella thingy over the squash and peppers, and a floating row cover over the tomatoes. I am hoping it deters the skunks enough that they decide to go dig somewhere else. I have a real problem with them coming along and tearing up my tomato plants looking for grubs (they like to dig in freshly disturbed soil).

I've got trellis type things for my cucumbers to theoretically grow up and shade the squash. Right now they're all growing the wrong way. Have to sort that this weekend.

I got my round three tomato plants in along with my sage. I've never grown sage before I had to look it up.

Sage will grow just about anywhere temperate. Will grow into a large (very beautiful) small shrub over time. Lovely stuff. Would give it its own space tho, somewhere away from a seasonal veg patch that gets razed and replanted every year.

A small dedicated herb garden area is a nice thing to do - allows perennial plants to get established and flourish away from the annuals. Your lemon grass would probably do well there too. It grows into big grass clumps. Very decorative.

Oops. I've got an herb box I need to get legs on... Read somewhere too that it shouldn't be planted close to cucumbers, affects their flavor.

Have to see if mine survived after being dumped upside down in transit.

I'll be very surprised if it lasts through winter. I can't get it to survive the tame winters we get here, despite my lemon tree surviving and thriving.
That's interesting. The Spanish garden is classic Med - very slight altitude but never frost. They grow all the Med stuff including citrus, avocados, olives, figs, grapes, pomegranates, almonds etc - and the lemon grass clump which has been there for years. Perhaps you get a touch of frost?
