What a piece of garbage.

I've never had a new car, that's a good way to toss money when you leave the lot...
True, I only bought new cars, not knowing anything about cars, I don’t want to get ripped off in a different way. So far no lemon in my car buying experience. But I keep mine for a long time. Like on Ford Explorer for 18 years then we donated the car.

I used to work for a friend who owned a pizzeria and helped him get it off the ground with the menu and stuff like that; it was a husband and wife thing. They had a side hustle of owning some places that they rented out to tenants (legal) and they said they absolutely hated it and tried everything to get out of that responsibility because 9 out of 10 tenants were complete subhuman garbage and would exploit a loophole where basically, they would not pay their rent and get taken to court and the court had to grant them a certain amount of time to get the money and they would just exploit that loop hole every time so they could live there for free but never actually pay. So they were responsible for the properties but never got money from tenants to pay for upkeep, so it was inevitably bleeding them dry, slowly.

I'm paraphrasing the situation, as I don't know the actual legalities or even if they still exist to this day, but they at least used to.
That's why we don't do low rent stuff or apartments, only middle class homes. All of our tenants have been excellent, except for two; one being my fishing buddy's crazy ex that I posted about, and another was a young couple that my wife had "a good feeling" about. We have a $4,700 judgement against the latter, which we'll likely never see. Our mistake with both was in breaking our own rule, by not properly vetting them. Our vetting process is a pain in the ass for us, and a pain in the ass for prospective tenants, but we have normal careers and don't do this for shoots 'n giggles, and need to know that whoever we allow to move in will both take care of our property and provide a return on our investment, and also won't be a royal pain in the ass.

I've just ended up reporting our kitchen light for flickering. I feel a right fool, but even we took it apart to look at it, you can't replace the bulbs because it's an LED strip and the entire thing is flashing. So it's the actual entire light that needs replacing, not a bulb. That's wiring in someone else's home so I'm not touching that.

But I'm dismantling the corded veneta blind that failed yesterday. I can't make it any worse than it is. It won't stay up at all. I know what the issue is, so just need to sort the cord out in the mechanism at the top. Hopefully nothing has broken, just tangled. I'll find out tomorrow.
