My variation to Madhur's filling quantities.

And because of my pathetic inability to make and fold pastry, I use ready made Phyllo pastry sheets and form them into spring rolls (or rather my wife does).

The dough for samosas has to be soft and almost silky...I can understand why you opted out of making it. These really look delicious!

Now, of course, I'm going to have to make some (I'm so easily distracted by shiny objects!)

The ingredients are virtually identical to one of Madhur's recipes except I've used limes in lieu of lemons. I also vary some quantities from her listing.

That was the last of my garam masala. I have the peppercorns, nutmeg, black cumin seeds, cloves and cinnamon but I am still awaiting black cardamom from my daughter. I guess as it's been over four weeks, they may have been confiscated. She is sending more (heavily disguised).

Is she shipping it to you or bringing it herself? Is black cardamom specifically restricted? Or, is it the import of food products?

Posting. I've had "seeds" sent before which have not arrived. It's likely a "better safe than sorry" attitude rather than a specific restriction.
