What did you cook or eat today (May 2026)

Usual lunch, except for the fact the tofu was disintegrating. Usually it is a very firm tofu. I think they may have missed pressing this one.

Tart/galette, whatever, of prosciutto, pear, microplaned red onion (though I might use shallots instead next time, and seasoned mascarpone (basil, thyme, rosemary, oregano, S&P), with an all butter pie crust dough, with egg wash and ParmR around the edge. A small salad of arugula and mushrooms. Definite make again.

My 4pm breakfast was a slider on a pan toasted Pepperidge Farms bun. Boarshead sliced deli chicken, melted smoked Gouda, wasabi mayo, a thick slice of avocado, and homegrown sprouts.

That looks amazing. I never could get into wasabi, though; it always tasted weird and chemical to me. I don't think I've ever had "real" wasabi, though, just the fake stuff. Maybe I actually would like the real stuff.
