A couple of years ago, my SO got a Mexican cookbook (by Diana Kennedy). She loves cooking so she decided to cook the most elaborate dish she found in the cookbook: black mole. This mole was special because traditionally it is only made where there is a holiday. So she decided to invite all of her neighbors. We spent around 12 hours in the kitchen making this dish (plus a couple of hours looking for the ingredients). We were quite happy at the end because the mole was really good.

The elaborate dish I had ever made is "Beef Morcon Roll" one of Filipino best dish with stuffing inside of fried minced onion and garlic, bell pepper, smoke sausage, sweet pickles, cheese and boiled egg. After the beef had been rolled tie it with a string then marinate it with the mixture of soy sauce, salt, ketchup, sweet pickles juice. After overnight of marinating in the refrigerator, fry the beef roll one by one before boiling it with the remaining marinating sauce and water until it becomes tender. Then when tender put liver spread on the sauce and continue to boil until the sauce thickens. It had many procedures but it is always worth it because this dish really taste good!
