Dug up a patch of garden and removed loads of pesky mint. Now the ground´s ready for beetroot, autumn carrots and purple sprouting.

i didnt plant a thing this year. the drought we are having just quit making it fun. i am helping tend the garden at my work office, so i should still have a supply of fresh veg, without the water penalties.

Through the worst of the Australian drought I still grew veg by recycling all water in my garden. Veg will grow in lightly grey water, grass and flowers quite happily in what I class as darker grey water (stuff I won't water veg with). All water was collected from washing the dishes, to showering. We shower standing in a bucket, you get 1 bucket full (It's a 60L flexi bucket). All of that got used to keep veg and the garden and in some cases trees alive.

Right now for the first time in the 6 years I've been in Australia I actually have the opposite problem... too much water. Can't win really.

I've taken to juicing them when I'm able to pick them up cheaply (over ripe and yellowing) and freezing in the ice cube tray... same for my lemons

Nice. I had a miniature lime tree once, but either the squirrels or birds kept going after the fruit. I gave up. I should try again; when one lives in a tropical climate its an absolute shame to have to buy limes when they grow so well in this climate.

Unfortunately a little camera shake. It was 06:30 in the morning hand held with a 250mm lense at ISO 3200. And I'd been up since 03:30 watching Formula 1.

I bought some last year. They were $35 kg. So we bought a tree. We should have fruit this year.
