Will fish and chips go soggy wrapped in paper?

Just want to settle a silly argument. Went to pick up fish and chips proper UK fish and chips. It's all wrapped in paper. We picked it up before we were all hungry as it closes early so we just thought to keep it warm in the oven. Someone put it all in the oven on a low temp still wrapped in the paper. I argued it will go soggy wrapped in the paper as it might just steam but the others were just like eh it'll be fine. Who do you think is right? Will find out soon but just wondered what people thought

I must add, I would have avoided the whole controversy by eating them on the way home, while no one was looking.

Can't comment on the fish, but assuming the chips were nicely crisp to start off with rather than limp and soggy, I'd expect them to be limp and soggy by the time you eat them. That was always my experience.

Believe it or not, when I was a young woman back in Hawaii, there was a proper Fish & Chips shop the next town over from Kaneohe. We always just ate our food straight away. That was the first time I'd ever had Malt Vinegar, YUM!!! I still keep a bottle in the `fridge.

Here ours come with a hole punched on the side with a pencil or similar. Some people travel 20 kms away. I'm like 10 mins away from my chippy and always crispy. Ours is vietnamese run.
