scones

A scone is a British baked good, usually made of wheat, or oatmeal with baking powder as a leavening agent and baked on sheet pans. A scone is often slightly sweetened and occasionally glazed with egg wash. The scone is a basic component of the cream tea. It differs from teacakes and other types of sweets that are made with yeast.

    Are any of you in love with scones? I like to make them and enjoy them with a hot cup of tea or coffee in the morning or as a snack later on in the day. This morning I am going to make scones with dried cranberries and walnuts in them. I also like to make savory scones on occasion.
