Recipe Black Currant Barbecue Sauce

Black Currant Barbecue Sauce:

Ingredients:

1) Garlic - 1/8 Cup
2) Tomato paste - 1 4 Oz. can.
3) Black currant preserve - 1/8 to 1/4 cup
4) Cayenne pepper sauce - 1 tblspn.
5) Balsamic vinegar - 5 to 6 tblspns.
6) Lime juice - 2 tblspns.
7) Adobo - 1 tblspn.
8) Brown sugar - 2 tblspns.
9) Paprika - 1 tspn.
10) Water - as required


Procedure:

1) In a mixing bowl, add all ingredients, except tomato paste.
2) Add about 1/4 Cup Water.
3) Blend the contents of the mixing bowl.
4) Add tomato paste and blend further.
5) Simmer the barbecue sauce in a pot until cooked.

NOTE: Simmer at about 175F and add Water as required during cooking. Stir frequently and simmer for about 30 to 40 minutes.

6) Allow to cool and then, bottle.
7) Refrigerate for at least 24 hours before first use.

NOTE: Keep refrigerated when not being used.

This is like any barbecue sauce, except that it has unique composition. You use it with anything that you would use any barbecue sauce, - chicken, pork, beef, etc.

I used it today to make barbecue beef sandwiches on ciabatta rolls.

Ok, same page now. Can't see why it wouldn't work, I havnt seen black currants in years.
