Brown Sugar-Bourbon Smash
Makes 1 drink

Ingredients

For the simple syrup:
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup water

For the bourbon smash:
1 ounce brown sugar simple syrup
2 ounces bourbon
2 ounces ginger beer
sliced apples, for garnish
cinnamon stick, for garnish

Directions

For the simple syrup:
Whisk together the sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk until the sugar dissolves. Bring the mixture to a simmer then turn off the heat. Let cool to room temperature. Store in a sealed container in the fridge for a week or so.

For the bourbon smash:
Fill a glass with crushed ice. Add the brown sugar syrup, then the bourbon. Stir it. Top it off with the ginger beer, the apple slices and cinnamon stick. Serve immediately.

Around here, it goes in drinks (hot and cold), and baked goods, like cakes and added into pecan pie filling…

…meatloaf, meatballs, brushed over chicken, it’s great to drink or cook with.

Ingredients
Bourbon
Ice cubes

Instructions
Place ice cubes in glass
Add Bourbon
Sit your a$$ in a comfortable chair, and sip Bourbon. Fireplace and dog curled at your feet optional.

DH was told after his heart adventure back in November, no more alcohol, which is fine because I personally think he's allergic to it.
Like many Asian cultures, a little dab'll do ya - he turns beet red in the face, is plastered and good for 💩 the next coupla days!
