Thats really odd. What are the round yellowy things at the front of the bowl? Not that I'm in any sense disbelieving you!

They could well be split red lentils just not cooked to the point of them disintegrating. It usually takes mine a good 45 minutes coming to get to puree stage whereas they cook in about 20-30 minutes. But following the instructions to the letter, the lentils are cooked for an hour, so that theory fails... It could be the difference in makes and organic and non-organic red lentils?

Ethiopian cuisine is one that I have never tried, but everyone I know who has tried it raves about how brilliant and delicious it is. Sounds like I need to get on the bandwagon!

Definitely nothing yellow involved - the fresh ingredients were red lentils, red chillis, onions, ginger, garlic and a few mushrooms that needed using up.
