My versions of Zuccotto semi fredo

I have not got a mold so I make them in a loaf tin. I don't bother much with presentation anymore as you can tell. I am only allowed to make them when my young nieces and nephews come to stay. You will forget about the usurper Tiramisu if you make Zuccotto.

Looks gorgeous, I could eat it with a ladle!

Anyway, it's a nice fight between the two of them, but personally I prefer tiramisu.
Strange to say, zuccotto is an almost old-fashioned dessert in Italy - apart from Firenze I suppose, where it was born.

Tiramisu is the youthful upstart in my opinion. I make big ones for when we have friends in. It's easier than Zuccotto, I used to do individual portions in Brandy balloons which look visually more attractive. Do you make Sardinian Seadas or Sebadas

Zuccotto is probably Tiramisu's grandfather.

You use brandy for tiramisu? Nice, I use Cognac or even Marsala, but not very much.

Well, Seadas are something else... I don't make them often because I don't always find lard (incredible but that's how it is). Or I eat them when I go to Sardinia.
I learned how to make Seadas by watching my aunts in Sardinia while they were preparing them.

No, I used to use a Brandy balloon glass to present it in.Back in the day, I learned how to make them in Nuoro chasing the most vicious human beings I have met. The Sardinian Shepherd kidnappers. I have my own cheats version that uses olive oil instead of lard if you are interested.

Ah, sorry I misunderstood, brandy balloon glass, got it now.
I know the version with olive oil thank you, even if I prefer the original one.
They must have taught you very well in Nuoro. Mind you, they are still in business.
