I had a problem with acid reflux last year, it was only when the ENT specialist stuck a camera up my nose and down my throat I found out what the problem was. I had previously had a very bad cold and laryngitis so though it was a lingering effect apparently not. I was advised to stay away from fatty, acid foods, fruits/juices- alcohol, cheese, chocolate which I did and after a month's course of medicine and avoiding the nasties I was a lot better. I no longer have vinegar on my chips, eat apples, pears, oranges or drink the juices and this has helped me greatly. I understand that my issue was temporary and others have a much more serious medical health issue. It isn't easy changing your ways and avoiding what you really like.
