Looks can be deceiving. It's actually 10 mts long and about 3mts wide, but the cupboards make it look smaller.
Here's a picture I just took next to the fridge, about 1 mt from the end wall:

Is the galley part 10 metres? The counter on the left is very narrow though. I think you may have less counter space than me. I need to measure my kitchen...

I'll post photos later.
 
No way. It would be embarrassing to show the mess my counters have become. I do the prep work on an island and the counters have become storage/display areas. But my counter tops were made by me personally with ceramic tiles. "Look honey. Wouldn't these tiles make a great counter top?" Many of you know the drill.

Call me weird but I actually like galley kitchens. No chance someone is gonna stand there and try to "help" you or talk with you while you cook! That is a big plus for me! :laugh:
