dessert

Dessert is a course that concludes a meal; the course consists of sweet foods, such as cake, biscuit, ice cream, and possibly a beverage, such as dessert wine or liqueur. Some cultures sweeten foods that are more commonly savory to create desserts. In some parts of the world, there is no tradition of a dessert course to conclude a meal.
Historically, the dessert course consisted entirely of foods 'from the storeroom' (de l'office), including fresh, stewed, preserved, and dried fruits; nuts; cheese and other dairy dishes; dry biscuits (cookies) and wafers; and ices and ice creams. Sweet dishes from the kitchen, such as freshly prepared pastries, meringues, custards, puddings, and baked fruits, were served in the entremets course, not in the dessert course. By the 20th century, though, sweet entremets had come to be included among the desserts.
The modern term dessert can apply to many sweets, including fruit, custards, gelatins, puddings, biscuits, cookies, macaroons, pastries, pies, tarts, cakes, ice creams, and sweet soups.

Do you eat dessert, cake, sweets every day?

We tend to get less recipes or posts about desserts, cakes and sweets. Maybe its because we all generally prefer savoury foods? I know that I do.

    Recipe Aquafaba Meringues

Aquafaba is amazing stuff. That it can do what egg whites do in many recipes (though not all) was a revelation to me. Meringues were the first aquafaba recipe I tried. Basically the same as standard egg white meringues but needing a little flavouring to change the slight beany flavour that is...

What is that one dessert thing?

I can barely recall; it was a very long time ago that I saw/read about it. There is some kind of super decadent dessert, I'm pretty sure it's European, maybe Dutch, or Swiss, where the recipe calls for an incredibly large amount of ingredients. I'm not sure what they all are, it's like...

    Recipe Chocolate Dessert Fondue

Chocolate Dessert Fondue Makes 4 servings (but we eat all of it and it's just 2 of us) NOTE: I make this in our mini Crockpot Little Dipper, which is more of a warming vessel, as it has no temperature control. You can do this on the stovetop (or even the microwave) if you adjust accordingly...

Copy Cat Butterfinger Bars (sort of)

Most around here eat cake or pie for dessert and I don't indulge in sweets much so dessert is a rare thing. Occasionally though I'll have a Butterfinger bar. I found this recipe that is pretty close. They're not as crispy crunchy as the real deal but the flavor is almost spot on. I just...

That's an age ole question, What's For Dessert? I looked high and low for a thread that was just about what you ate for dessert (not necessarily what you made though, there's other threads here for that), and couldn't find just a general "this-is-what-I-had", so... This is for DH, I don't...
