Apparently there is a new tiktok fad regarding Dubai chocolate. Silly expensive. This is just 1 example.

I didn't imply any criticism. I'm not against Tik Tok. I just don't use it because it isn't of interest to me. Same with X and facebook. My social media is confined to sites that have content interesting to me. Like Cooking! :) I like chatting with good cooks and musicians so I do that.

I know you didn't :) I don't go near tiktok either to be honest. Always thought it was for youngsters.

TikTok is about short videos and TikTok certainly has a lot of food related content, often showing fast ways to cook a recipe or a new way to use a certain ingredient. So what is the video content here?

No video content just an example of the product and where I found out about it.
 
I don’t mind what platform I get my info from, if it’s done well or is inspiring I’m happy to use TikTok or YouTube. There is a lot of tosh on there but there’s some great ideas too. Younger people with fresh ideas and older experienced cooks giving you their hard earned knowledge for free. Marvellous.
 
There are two or three "fads" I've noticed recently that are beginning to get on my nerves. I've blocked a couple before I start making sarcastic responses :D.
One is the Whiner.
" Why are the houses so small in Holland? I can't get through the doors without lowering my head"
" How come I can't get a decent cup of coffee in London? I mean, I only wanted an almond milk frappé with chocolate fluff, a shot of bourbon, ice, a touch of nutmeg and a double shot of Colombian. Come on."
" I'm here with a wet wipe on the Heathrow escalators. I mean, how GROSS! Look at all the dirt and germs I'm getting on this wipe! All those bacteria!!"
Another is the Pork Hound.
" I've just found this fantastic place in Brick Lane. A Pakistani tandoori place with all you can eat for £15! (Proceeds to load plate with 3 chicken breasts, 4 lamb kebabs, 3 chops and 4 naans)"
"Just look at these amazing sandwiches! Only £10 each! "( produces a sandwich the size of a dog kennel, filled with 4 kinds of cheese, salami, coppa, ham, smoked ham, prosciutto, Spanish chorizo, corned beef, 1 slice tomato, 3 lettuces, 2 pints doctored mayonnaise and rams it in his cakehole).
"The best pizza offer in London for only £12!! Here at Don Giovanni's, a 20" pizza, with pepperoni, double cheese, parmigiano, sundried tomatoes, olives, anchovies AND crispy bacon. It comes with an entire loaf of cheesy garlic bread and a green salad (Chomp, chomp, nosh, nosh)
"Just bin down the Chinese an I got lunch for t'day; sweet & sour pork balls, chicken chow mein, singapore noodles, free spring rolls,(ie, 3) fried wontons, salt n pepper spare ribs (bleedin' lovely, they are), spesshul fried lice, haha, and cantonese stuffed fish. Gotta put plenty o soy sauce on that and them little packets of sweet & sour."
And finally, the Upper Class Twit.

Well I'd kinda like some of the same things the pork hound likes, LOL, only I would be able to make 4 meals out of it or share it with friends.

Where are you seeing this kinda stuff though? I guess I don't have much of an online presence outside of this forum and with my work websites.
