He was the 'Crafty Chef' on Food and Drink back in the 1990s, and I loved his recipes, because there were always short cuts in them. I got some shin of beef today, to make a Stifado - a Greek stew - and I couldn't find the recipe, so I Googled 'Michael Barry's Stifado' and discovered he died a couple of years ago, aged 69. I was quite sad, as I used to really enjoy watching him.
I did the Stifado from memory, as the recipes I found seemed overloaded with ingredients compared to his version, and it turned out great. Does anyone else remember Michael Barry?
