Arrived today and pretty much as advertised. Now all I have to do is add a precooking habit, put it on, to 46 years of never having one......
Going to get one and going to use it.![]()

I hung it up where I can't help but see it so have to see if that's enough trigger.I've been trying to use mine
I even sometimes remember
Guess what....I hung it up where I can't help but see it so have to see if that's enough trigger.![]()
Well, with a mug of frosty homebrew in one hand it'd be hard to put an apron on!Guess what....
I got 3 of them hanging in plain sight
And still I just walk past them
But I managed while making pizza
So my denim blue apron now has lots of white ingrained
Just pretend it's faded denim nowGuess what....

Is that a chinchilla?Ok, I've been shamed (jk) into hunting down my apron.
I wore it for the first time yesterday
Really should have done something with my hair, I just washed it and rubbed a towel over it - I wasn't planning on a photo op lol

Yup it's a chinchilla.Is that a chinchilla?
Yeah, we used to have a chinchilla. I saw yours over on the "pets" thread. I have bad animal dander allergies (some dogs and all cats, not horses) but the chinchilla never bothered me.Yup it's a chinchilla.
Neither their fur, nor their saliva is an allergen so I used to keep some as pets (tho that was some years ago now).
I'll post a few pics of them in pets
I also have a number of allergies, so I looked into it a bit.Yeah, we used to have a chinchilla. I saw yours over on the "pets" thread. I have bad animal dander allergies (some dogs and all cats, not horses) but the chinchilla never bothered me.
The chinchilla wasn't allowed to be in the main part of the house and was restricted to her room, so I didn't have much interaction with him.I also have a number of allergies, so I looked into it a bit.
With dogs the allergen is their dander. I tend to assume horses are the same as I can't walk downwind of one.
With cats it's their saliva. With cats being cats that ends up all over their fur.
Generally with rodents the allergen will be in their urine. That seemed to hold true since I used wood pellet cat litter in the chinchillas litter tray and I did get slightly affected while cleaning cages.
That looks like a good design idea. I can relate to something hanging/loading on part of you. Decades of wearing tools and now I don't put anything in my pockets or on my belt; can't stand it!An apron is a wonderful thing. I use mine regularly. Several years ago I switched to a different style that does not go around my neck. Long days of wearing the previous around-the-neck-style was just fatiguing.
I switched to the "Japanese" style -> Amazon.com
Love it.
I also pin a cloth to the right side of the apron to be able to easily wipe my hands. I like Williams Sonoma dish cloth as it's larger than normal (which is why I didn't like it as a wash cloth!) Williams Sonoma: Page not available in your region
