My husband has a birthday coming up at the end of the month and he wants a chocolate cake with boiled icing.
I have no problem making the cake that he wants but I have never made boiled icing before. Can anybody out there help me out on that one. I know he got his heart set on it so I don't want to disappoint him on his special day.

I have heard of it, and have made it a long time ago.
Pretty much all that is 'boiled' about it is that boiling water (and only a tiny amount really) is used to dissolve sugar into a paste which is then used/whiffed into egg whites.
It's not difficult at all.

Thank you! I will give it a try. Worst case scenario is that it doesn't turn out.
I will have a back up plan just in case. I know my mom use to make it all the
time but I never got the recipe from her and I didn't pay a lot of attention to it
at the time. I took it for granted I guess. I miss not being able to just pick up the
phone and call her and ask. It is little things like this that triggers things and I
miss her so much! Live sure is different once you lose your mom, :(
