Bombarded with cell phone calls

Could it be that your details have been leaked somewhere? This sounds like you're on some kind of list used by criminals. Unfortunately data leaks like that happen all the time these days. Try Have I Been Pwned: Check if your email has been compromised in a data breach to see if you're hacked somewhere. It's only for e-mail though, but often with data leaks more than your phone number alone has been put on a list.

Yes, I knew my email address was compromised with a few data breaches but we have a landline number associated with that, not my cell phone number. Fortunately I haven't had any more calls since Friday morning. Hopefully it stays that way.
 
I'm careful to give details out to a few sources as possible, and I use the uk service to opt out of sales stuff (the telephone preference service), but I still get a few now and again. It's really annoying as only official organisations who need my number are given it.

This morning I got a call - a pre-recorded message claiming to be a well known job agency that wanted to talk about a job and wanted me to add the phone number on whatsapp ... yeah I'll add that right away ... NOT!
I reported it immediately to hiya via the phone software and also on a separate online site.
 
Completely irrelevant, perhaps, but I caught a "tik tok"or something like that on Instagram yesterday.
It's an AI granny. When the spammer calls, she'll say: Ohhh, hello, dear. What colour socks are you wearing today? Have you spoken to your mum yet? She's probably missing you. I met her a few months back at the women's institute. Lovely lady, she's a real sweetheart, and loves her tea, blah, blah, blah for the next hour.
All the time granny is talking, they can't spam anyone else :hyper: :hyper: :D :D :giggle:
