CHAT ROOM GUIDELINES
The CookingBites chat room is an informal space for casual conversation, off-topic banter, and short-lived discussions that do not belong in forum threads.
Use of the chat room is optional and at your own discretion.

SITE RULES STILL APPLY
All CookingBites site rules and terms of use apply in the chat room exactly as they do elsewhere on the site.
This is not a rule-free space.

LOWER OVERSIGHT, NOT NO OVERSIGHT
The chat room is lightly moderated and primarily community-managed.
Messages are transient and may not be reviewed unless a serious issue is brought to the administrator’s attention.

There is no guarantee that:

• all messages will be seen by moderators
• disputes will be mediated
• historical context will be available

Use common sense and good judgment.

NO REPORTING, NO RETROSPECTIVE COMPLAINTS
The chat room does not function like the forums.
There is no formal reporting system and no expectation of post-by-post moderation.
If a conversation becomes uncomfortable, inappropriate, or unproductive, disengage.

NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR THREADS
The chat room is not a place to:

• conduct ongoing debates
• post detailed advice or instructions
• make announcements
• continue arguments from forum threads

If a topic has substance or lasting value, it belongs in the forums.

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK
Chat content is temporary and informal.
Posts will disappear after 24hrs, context may be lost, and misunderstandings occur.

ADMINISTRATIVE DISCRETION
CookingBites may remove chat access or disable the chat room if it becomes disruptive or undermines the community.
