I had to laugh the last time I was in Woolies. We but chilli jam which despite its name is a chutney and has always been located with the chutneys until now. Lay time we were in woollies, however, we came across it in the jam isle alongside strawberry, raspberry jam, lemon curd and things like chocolate spread and nut butters!

So i thought I'd ask. Is it a jam or chutney? We use it as chutney. The idea of putting it on hot toast with butter to serve along side a strawberry jam, just doesn't work for me!

That's the key question for me. If it's just chile peppers and sugar, or something like that, then it's jam for me. Something akin to an American pepper jelly.
If it's got other ingredients, other vegetables, ginger, garlic, spices, etc. then I'd incline towards a chutney.
I've got two pepper "jam"/jelly recipes, and they're great with toast and cream cheese, fresh white cheese, or toast and peanut butter.

I'd have to go with pepper jelly too.

It makes a nice glaze on shrimp, chicken or pork, so, I'd think it could be used similarly on vegan products.

We were first introduced to it by Craig's late brother. He served it on a block of room temperature cream cheese with Ritz crackers. I've also used it on sandwiches made with sweet potato biscuits, smoked or a country cured ham, with pepper jelly as the condiment.

Help me make jam & jelly
