Chocolate and banana cake is in the oven.

Blend together 175g (I used 150g) caster sugar with 200g butter.
Gradually mix in 3 eggs adding a little of the 200g of flour.
Fold in the remaining flour, with 25g of cocoa powder.
Stir in two mashed bananas.

Divide the mix into two 8" cake tins, buttered and with baking paper in the bottom.
Bake for 35mins at 190 degC.

When done make up a filling of butter cream and then chocolate icing on top and decorate with sliced banana.

I may skip on the filling and icing as I don't have enough icing sugar left, so it could just have a filling of sliced banana.

Arch has added some damson jam to the cake and a blizzard slight dusting of icing sugar on top.

We have eaten the slice off the top of the base layer and it is yummy!

's very nice. Not too sweet, despite the slight icing sugar overdose.

Oh, and the fact that when I put the top layer on the bottom layer, I forgot about the greaseproof paper stuck to the bottom of it. Luckily, I spotted it just before we tried to cut a slice, and we removed it!
