Christmas 2025.

We haven’t bought anything of significant value for Christmas gifts. My husband likes Sees Candies and I’m going to get a box this Friday.

The soups have arrived for Christmas.

For Christmas Eve we have crab raviolo which I will serve over some of the Lobster Bisque, then for Christmas lunch I will do the fish soup, enriched with the rest of the Lobster and some scallops. In the next couple of days I have some Rouille Peraud coming to swirl through it with some croutons

We received another card from the UK, one from my husband’s cousin, she always sent the cards on time.
This morning my husband finally assembled his train set, the train adds a nice Christmas sound, this set we bought over 25 years ago, and I’m glad it’s still working.
What sound does it make?

I don't really want to say this ( but I am anyway  ). I tried these and was disappointed. However, if you serve with some proper French lobster bisque as suggested, I am sure they will be OK.

Love a bit of a BonneBouffe order myself.
Mine arrived on Tuesday, Pommery cognac mustard will be in everyone’s stockings apart from Mr SSOAP’s who will be unwittingly taste testing the Pommery Ginger Mustard offering 😊

I have had them before just napped with butter and herbs and I have found them to be fine. The bisque will help to carry them if they are skimping on the filling these days

I think that was the problem - skimpy. Mind you, it could have been me overcooking them or something!

We will know in a couple of weeks 😁. The trouble of living where I do is the lack of decent seafood, getting a less than 'skimpy' dresed crab is almost impossible, and you can forget a decent sized fresh scallop.

Same xmas as last 35 years.
Roast leg of lamb
2kg boiled pickled pork
Rolled roast of turkey breast.
Roast potatoes, pumpkin, parsnip carrots and kumara.
Boiled new potatoes from the garden
Peas from.our garden.
Home made gravy and store bought cranberry jelly. My mint sauce.
I actually look forward and enjoy xmas day.
