Santa Claus was very generous at our house this year.

I can't recall what the name of this game is, from wayyyy back in the day, but DH had never seen nor heard of this before. So I showed him how and my little 10 year boy (aka my dearest husband) is playing quietly at the kitchen table, AHHHH, peace.

My entire childhood, a Spirograph was one of the only toys I had, and had about 75% of the pieces missing. The only reason I had it was my dad bid on a box of random things at an auction, and it happened to be in there.

Meal was:

Prime rib (medium-rare) w/ gravy
Potato casserole
Sautéed sprouts w/ bacon, onion, garlic (sorry, Morning Glory )
Yorkshire puddings

I wrote a little poem about the meal today:

Your a good’un at the puddin’
Said the girl just down the street.
The sprouts I can’t do without,
There’s just so much to eat!
The taters I’ll eat later…
Oh what the hell, spoon ‘em up!
I’d like a bib for the prime rib
And my gravy by the cup!

NOTE: “The girl just down the street” is an inside joke between MrsT and me.

Maltesers - haven't seen them for ages

Amarone (della Valpolicella). Absolutely divine and unusual, in that the grapes are not picked and crushed, but picked and dried for 3-4 months. That's when they're crushed to make the wine. It's also a pretty potent drink at 15-16% ABV.
