Makes about 12 pinwheels, Preparation time 10 mins, Cooking time 20 mins
- 1 pre-made puff pastry roll dough
- Nutella spread, to taste
- Cinnamon powder, to taste
- 1 egg, beaten
- Milk, optional
- Icing sugar, to garnish
Preheat oven to 175 C – 350F – Gas Mark 4.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Spread a thin layer of Nutella evenly across surface, leaving a small amount of dough untouched all four sides.Tip: prick the dough with the tines of a fork so it won’t swollen during baking time.
Add a pinch of cinnamon on Nutella all over the puff pastry dough.
Roll dough back up. With a knife, slice dough about 1inch thick getting dough pinwheels and place them on the baking sheet and brush them with the beaten egg.
Bake for about 15-20 minutes – it depends on your oven – or until edges turn slightly brown.Tip: if you do not have or do not want to use the egg to brush the surface of the puff pastry pinwheels, use milk or even unsalted butter.
Take off from the oven, allow to cool them down a bit, then sprinkle with some icing sugar and serve.
