Cooking related obsessions

the way I see it, is that I can either eat it as it is, or it is going to get cooked anyway, so I don't worry about it if it is just for us. If I am cooking for guests, that's different but we are used to living rurally and drinking untreated water, so something that has landed on the floor and is going to then get cooked, I honestly don't see an issue with (for people who are used to being exposed to germs).

But I am well aware that my husband and I are much more accustomed to germs and untreated water than city folk, which includes all of our families.
and even if I did wash it off, I am washing it off in untreated water anyhow.

…plus a lot of stuff is dirty and needs washing before cooking anyway so if I drop some sliced prepped potato on the floor I can just wash it and use it. It’s still cleaner than where it came from! And then cooking is going to kill any bug that may still reside on it.

My main food related obsession is research and recipe development. I used to spend more time actually cooking but my health doesn't allow that so much now, plus I have nobody to cook for except me. I used to cook at least 2 full meals a day for my partner, so plenty to photograph.

So, I spend more a more time reading, researching, developing, scribbling and sketching for recipe ideas. I always did do those things but now its quite obsessive. I have more ideas than I can ever cook and many, many notebooks full of scribble!
