Cooking Torch

Question to the group:
Do Butane Torches give the food that butane gas taste?

Butane is pretty clean. I don't notice a butane flavor. Propane can leave a propane flavor, if you aren't careful, and let the flame get too close to your food -- unless you have a catalyst type adapter, like the Searzall.

I don't use the sous vide that much, but I think I will try the torch to sear the meat next time.
I prefer to sous vide pork chops over beef steaks, as I've gotten pretty good on the grill ... not to toot my own horn or anything, but with a gorgeous creature like this gasser ...
