This is not a smoothie nor a real juice. It is actually a mix of cotton fruit that is locally called Santol here. After taking away the rind, chop the cotton fruit flesh and slice it into 4. Place in a pitcher and for 5 cotton fruit, add 3 glasses of water and sugar to taste. Add ice to make it a real refreshing drink. It is exotic but people love it for its unique taste.

I never heard of cotton fruit. It is probably something I will never have, as I am unlikely to go to the Phillipines at any point in my life. Do you know if they have it in other places in Asia? It sounds like it might be a localized thing. Many regions in the world have beverages they just sell primarily in their local area like muscadine in in Carolina and Georgia or Moxie in NE,

Its possible to buy the fruit in the UK (on-line) - its known as Santol. If you have a Thai supermarket they might sell it.

My guess is you would have to go to a major city to either find it or get it someone to import it for you, but I am sure it could be ordered online. They might even have it on Amazon. Amazon seems to have everything! Just for curiousity, when I am done here I think I will look to see if it is on there.
