I have gotten fresh lemons before and put them in my fruit bowl, and a couple of days later, they have green mold only on the side facing down. I thought it was an oxygen thing, so I always move my lemons every day or two to stop this, but apparently that doesn't work anymore. Also, I just read that refrigerating lemons helps extend their shelf-life. I literally didn't know you "needed" to refrigerate lemons, but I guess I'm going to start now. I just had to chuck 3 perfectly good lemons because they got moldy unbelievably fast.

Did you wash and dry your fruit bowl to get rid of mold spores?

I've never had moldy ones from sitting out but I've had oranges, tangerines, etc. dry out if not eaten within a week or less. I think I've always put lemons and limes in the fridge.

We have 2 lemon trees. 1 hadn't fruited for 20 years in the front so we got another and planted out the back.then 7.1 earthquakes struck and it must have done something to the roots as near year we had both fruiting. I've never had would on any fruit. My wife has mandarin in our fruit bowl along side our lemons 🍋
They shrink if too long. I also freeze lemon juice for my g and t.
The lady 2 down from us helps herself as well. To lemons out the front. Like 10 steps up our driveway.
