Difference in shoe sizes

We do have quite a few in the UK. Most reasonably sized towns have one, There is a very successful chain of stores who do key-cutting as well.

They seem to be getting farther and fewer between here. I miss the musty, dusty, leathery smell, and the sign with a picture of a cat's paw outside of the shop. And the ticket they used to hand you with the day of the week marked off. Your shoes will be ready next Wednesday.

I find that the soles and heels are the last thing to go on my shoes. It's the upper body that suffers first. Maybe it's because I buy cheap shoes (about £25.00 - £30.00/pair).
