This would be great to serve at a Halloween party, or some other fall event. This is a casserole cooked and served inside a pumpkin.
You will need.
1 medium sugar pumpkin
1 & 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 onion choped
1 clove of garlic minched
1 & 1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 & 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 & 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
4 cups tomato juice
3 cups shredded cabbage
1/2 pound fresh green beans
1 cup uncooked rice
Preheat oven to 350
Wash pumpkin cut off the top and clean out all the seeds.
Brown hamburger meat in a skillet. Drain. Add onions and garlic cook u ntil they are sautaed.
Add sugar Italian seasoning pepper salt juice and rice. Mix thourouhly.
Layer a layer of cabbage, green beans and then meat rice mixture inside the pumpkin. Repeat layers.
Place the lid back on the pumpkin and place pumpkin in a roasting pan.
Bake for 2 to 3 hours.
